- Steps to Justice Guided Pathways and Smart Forms – CLEO. Online, interactive tools help users to complete court forms and understand the court process by taking them through a series of plain-language questions. Based on the user’s answers, the pathways populate the applicable court forms and provide tailored legal information. At the end of the pathway, the user receives a package of their completed forms and a next steps checklist, which may be printed or saved to a computer.
- The Family Justice Centre The FJC, a partnership between Pro Bono Students Canda (PBSC), Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) and Epstein Cole LLP, hosts virtual legal clinics for Ontarians dealing with family law issues who are unable to afford a lawyer, but do not qualify for legal aid services. The Centre is also creating public legal education resources to support self-represented litigants in navigating the family law process. The following videos are now available:
- Tools for Financial Disclosure
- The Disclosure Clinic – Ontario Family Law Financial Disclosure Done Right – The Disclosure Clinic is a limited scope service that assists individuals to take a proactive approach to their financial disclosure and move their family law matter along faster, build credibility into their information and claims, and avoid negative inferences made by the other party or a Court. Operated by Shmuel Stern, family law lawyer.
- Divorceaide – A free online application that walks people through the completion of a draft family law financial statement. Users can download the file to their computer whenever they want and easily access it when they want to continue where they left off. Once finished, the user will have a filled-out form that’s ready to use. The application also allows users to upload supporting document PDFs and convert them into one continuous PDF document called the Disclosure Brief with a table of contents (the Disclosure Brief Index).
